Contract through TANF funds to expand Head Start in Idaho

The Idaho Head Start Association has contracted with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to contract with Head Start Grantees in Idaho to add an additional 221 families to Idaho's current Head Start enrollment. The purpose of the contract is to prepare at-risk children for kindergarten.

11 Head Start Grantees have been awarded sub-contracts in Idaho. Families who receive services are TANF eligible or at risk of becoming eligible, and whose income does not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.

Families who are selected to participate receive the following services: Child Development and Health Services; Family Services which include the development of family goals and Training opportunities which include Parenting and leadership instruction; Community Partnerships, and Management Services.
